Steampunk!Jewel

Brief info: In the steampunk universe Jewel used to be aboard an airship among a crew of pirates who were known for taking down other ships both in the air and the sea (rainin' canon balls and fire, son). These pirates liked to take over ships, raided them, killed whomever got in their way and took all the goods for money or personal possession. While Jewel was one of the raiders she also helped with mechanics on the ship, helped keep it fueled. 

Alas, her time on the ship was cut off when a rivaling ship came in and attacked, blew the ship out of the sky. Jewel survived but -- like many aboard that ship -- was separated from the majority of the crew. She wasn't able to find anyone else upon making it to land so she decided to start a new life right from the bottom as a street rat in a small town. By selling of some possessions she had (things she had stolen in past raids) she was able to get a new outfit that didn't look so obvious [the casual wear]. Soon after, Jewel sought out a low-key job that would allow her to inch up the society ladder and make some money; she found work in a bar.
