SM: Jewel

The main lady in Smeared Mascara, her own equivalent of a TBTP arc. All the 'pointy-ness' in her design (filed teeth and nails, cleated sandals, shredded clothing and frazzled hair) has yet to surface; she has a softer, cleaner look to her and different uniform. She is 17 and unseated in the 11th division at the beginning off the story. Her lieutenant position comes in at the end of the story.

Between the academy days and first being inducted into the 11th division Jewel was much more approachable than her present self (though still a butt-nugget, rest assured). She was just grasping the reigns of her shikai but it was horrendously unstable and it didn't help that she wanted to show it off as often as possible because of the damage it caused. She was over-eager to prove herself and climb the ranks, treated it more like a competition than an actual job; she obsessed over it. She liked Kakós because he challenged her, seemed to know all about the division, though didn't understand his negativity towards fighting. Luckily for her -- having been inducted in from a shortage of soldiers during the second war -- she found out why Kakós felt the way he did.
